Common Sense from the Heartland

Not celebrating homosexual unions
Lost its moral compass

The photograph of two women in The Courier-Journal (4/29) of two women who were the first to "marry" in Iowa in a joyful embrace no doubt thrilled the editors. But as I read on, I saw on the very next page another photograph of a woman kissing a parrot. Then, in The CJ's Neighborhoods section there was a photo of a woman kissing a horse. And I immediately thought, or wondered, has some liberal judge taken the next logical step and declared that it is constitutional for someone to marry his or her pet, whether bird or equine? After all, if it is unconstitutional to limit marriage to a man and a woman, how can we exclude any other relationship a person might dream up, whatever it be? Of course, when someone demands the "constitutional right" to marry a horse, a bird, five women, or 10 men, to be consistent, the judges will have to rule that it is their constitutional right, and The CJ editorial staff will have to be true to its liberal convictions and print editorials in favor of the action and every letter in favor of it as well. Our country has lost its moral compass as we slide into a moral sewer. God help us
