I agree with Hack Wilson. Something doesn't smell right...kind of like oil. I'm not really into scheduling for four star generals with command over all of the free world's middle eastern hot spots, so who am I to question a little Rolling Stone interview time. However, military commanders don't just say what they really think and they don't just sit down and talk to magazines like the Rolling Stone.

I think General McChrystal fell on the sword to send the American people a message. That message might not be clear right now, but as Hack clearly points out, "A man like General Stanley McChrystal doesn't criticize his superiors in random interviews just for the hell of it."

I agree with both of you. If he would have resigned and then spoke out the MSM wouldnt have touched it. So he had to fall on his sword and look like a dumbass to send a message and that takes honor.
